Telehealth & Field-Based Services

I offer a HIPAA-compliant secure client portal through Simple Practice with secure messaging, emailing, and audio and video chat options. I can provide therapy, consultation, advocacy, and certain types of psychodiagnostic assessment through these platforms.

Online therapy when you need it.

I get it, not everyone has the time and ability to make it out to our office. I use secure, HIPAA-compliant video chat that you can use on your smartphone or laptop. Skip the LA traffic (or state lines!) and schedule therapy when it works for you.

I can also come to you.

As a psychologist experienced across settings, I can help make therapy or assessment happen where you need it. As long as we have a private space that is suitable for confidential therapy or assessment, we can work with you in your home, office, or at your child’s school. (In-person services offered in the greater Los Angeles area.)

Telehealth FAQs

What kind of therapy can we do through telehealth?

For most teens and adults who benefit from talk therapy, telehealth looks just like regular therapy, without the commute. For some teens and younger children, we may focus on a combination of parent coaching via video and tele-play therapy. We can work on the same problems as in-person therapy, with a little creativity thrown in.

What platforms do you use for telehealth?

The majority of our telehealth occurs through our Simple Practice client portal, which includes secure messaging, email, audio, and video chat. Click here to learn more about how to get setup using Simple Practice as a client. We also use Google Meet and Doxy.me. All of our platforms are HIPAA-compliant and used with your security and privacy in mind.

What kind of assessments can we through telehealth?

Depending on the questions you have about yourself or your child, we may be able to answer them all through telehealth. A large portion of psychological assessments can be conducted remotely, including standardized questionnaires sent to the client, parents, and school staff. The only face-to-face testing we are unable to do effectively tend to be cognitive (IQ) and achievement (academic) testing, and some behavioral observations.

What if I have an emergency?

Every time we meet through telehealth, we will ask you to confirm your location and your emergency contact on file. For parents, we ask you are available during the time we meet with your child in case of emergency. Typically, we will call your emergency contact if we are worried about your safety, but some dangerous situations require us to collaborate with mobile mental health response teams local to you.

What if I don’t like telehealth?

You may be surprised at how similar our telehealth sessions feel to a typical in-person session. However, telehealth is not for everyone, and we get that! Together we will figure out if it is working for you and what you need.
